Yep! I am smitten with kittens.
These are the 10 that own us, all rescues.
Skeepers was found by the entrance to our local grocery store, crouched by the shopping carts. She'd been abandoned. She's called Skeepers because her little meow sounds like "skeep, skeep, skeep."
A very young feral cat gave birth to Appa as she was scrambling over a fence. I found him with the placenta and umbilical cord still attached. When he was a year old we discovered that he had a blood disease that nearly took his life and he was on medication for at least a decade. He's definitely our lucky kitty who has defied all odds, even the partial bungee cord that he ate couldn't end things for him. These days, he's more than happy to eat bits of chicken - we keep the hair ties, rubber bands, plastic bags, and and bungee-type cords out of the house or extremely supervised.
Bear showed up in out backyard at about the age of one. So did her brother Cow. We took Bear in to save her from breeding, but a month later, her loyal brother still kept watch for her in our backyard. He gained entry into the clowder when he stepped on a nail and punctured his back foot.
Mouse, Semi, Toes, Oreo, and Tabs are called the Zombies because they were discovered just after they began to walk and they stumbled and staggered out of the brush like little Zombies; all are female. Star is their Momma and she was feral. We took them all in to save Star from having a fifth litter and to save all the Zombies from motherhood entirely.
